PCR – WHAT IS IT?
PCR stands for post-consumer-recycled material – this means PCR materials are recycled plastics that are sourced from household or commercial waste, most of which consists of packaging.

WHY IS PCR GOOD FOR THE ENVIRONMENT?
PCR is environmentally friendly for several reasons:

  • It saves natural resources, which means that there is also less C02 emissions from oil production
  • A new product is produced instead of an old one being sent to a landfill, desoluted in the ocean, or incinerated in a waste incinerator, resulting in more C02 emissions
  • Plastic that is disposed of in nature (e.g. in the ocean) ultimately ends up in our food chain.
    Recycling counteracts this
