Details matter
Heat-embossed,
not printed.
Every scale is embossed into the material with temperature-standardised stamps, not printed on. It doesn't fade and stays readable to the millimetre — even after years in a school bag.

The Scale
Every scale is heat-embossed, not printed, and made to a temperature standard — it doesn't fade and stays readable to the millimetre, even after years in a school bag.

The Material
Our drawing tools are made from tested plastics, free of phthalates and other critical plasticisers — for daily use at school and kindergarten.
Tested phthalate-free
- 03
The Flexibility
Softie®FLEX and Flexi® bend into a full circle without splitting — with the same precision-embossed scale as the rigid standard range.

The Manufacturing
Development, tool-making and production all come together at our headquarters in Erlangen — the same site where KUM has made precision tools for school, office and art since 1919.

Questions?
We'll draw
the line.
What's the difference between a Geodreieck and a Geometriedreieck?
None — both German terms describe the same drawing tool for angles, perpendiculars and parallels (a set square). KUM has historically used both names; the product "262 Geometriedreieck" carries the name right in its title.
What ruler lengths does KUM offer?
15, 17 and 20 cm for the pencil case, 30 cm for the desk and drawing board — depending on the series, also available in wood, PCR or Biofibre versions.
Are KUM drawing tools free of harmful substances?
Yes. Our plastics are tested and free of phthalates and other critical plasticisers.
What makes the Softie®FLEX range special?
The material bends into a full circle instead of breaking — with the same precision-embossed scale as the standard range. Available as a ruler and as a set square, including the reinforced Softie®FLEX Extreme version.
What's the difference between Style and Essentials?
Both are ruler-and-set-square ranges with the same heat-embossed scale. Style uses a modern colour combination, and the Highlight ruler also has a wavy edge for underlining; Essentials comes in bold single colours.
What is the Stop & Go?
A drawing tool that combines several functions and has patented Stop & Go dots that grip the paper securely and stop it slipping while you draw. Super Geo applies the same principle to a 22 cm set square with a cheat point.
What is the 293 Circlet?
A 16 cm acrylic set square with ink risers that also allows circle constructions — angles, arcs, parallels and circles with just one drawing tool.
What are the sustainable rulers made from?
Three lines within Essentials: PCR rulers made from recycled plastic, a solid-wood ruler, and a ruler made from Biofibre, a 97% bio-based fibre material.
