How it works:
Sharpening happens in two stages: stage 1 — only the pencil's wood is sharpened, until the lead touches the automatic stop. Further sharpening isn't possible. The exposed lead now has the right length for stage 2. Stage 2 — the lead is now shaped precisely. The automatic stop prevents extra sharpening once the final result is reached.
The result is a cone shaped at roughly 9 degrees.
